Free Split-Shift Timesheet for Gig Workers, Healthcare & Restaurant Staff
Calculate My Hours is a free, private split-shift timesheet that runs entirely in your browser — no account, no app to install, no data sent to a server. It's built for workers who clock in and out more than once a day: gig workers, home health aides, nurses and CNAs, restaurant and hospitality staff, and anyone else juggling split shifts or irregular hours. Track up to three separate shifts per day and let the calculator total your hours automatically.
How to use this split-shift timesheet
Enter your clock-in and clock-out times for each shift using any format: 9 AM, 9:00, 900, or 17:30. Hit the ↻ button to stamp the current time instantly. Daily totals appear on the right; weekly subtotals update at the top of each week card. When your biweekly pay period is complete, click Export PDF to download a formatted timesheet ready to email to your payroll coordinator or file with your tax records.
Overtime tracking for shift workers
Open Settings to enable overtime calculation, then choose whether overtime is calculated per week (hours beyond a weekly threshold, commonly 40) or per day (hours beyond a daily threshold, commonly 8). The timesheet automatically splits regular and overtime hours based on your chosen mode — showing an OT badge on each week card and a full breakdown in the weekly sub-total bar and the pay period summary bar. Especially useful for home health aides, healthcare workers, and gig workers billing multiple clients.
Gap time between shifts
Because split shifts leave unpaid time between clock-out and the next clock-in, the calculator also totals that Gap Time automatically — per week in the sub-total bar under each week card, and for the full pay period in the bottom totals bar. It's a convenient way to see exactly how much of your day is unpaid downtime, though it's a tracking figure only, not a calculation of split-shift premium pay.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the calculator, your data, and how split-shift tracking works here.
What counts as a split shift?
A split shift is a workday broken into two or more separate periods with an unpaid gap in between — for example, working 8 AM–12 PM, then again 4 PM–9 PM. This tool lets you log up to three such shifts per day.
How many shifts can I track in a single day?
Up to three separate clock-in/clock-out pairs per day. Each shift's hours are totaled individually and then rolled into a daily total.
Is my timesheet data stored anywhere, or is it private?
Everything you enter is saved only in your browser's local storage. Nothing is transmitted to a server or database — your data stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Do I need to create an account or sign up?
No. There's no login, no account, and no email required. Open the page and start entering hours.
Can I export my timesheet for payroll or my own records?
Yes. Once your pay period is filled in, use the Export PDF button to download a formatted, printable timesheet you can email to a payroll coordinator or keep for your own records.
What time formats can I type into the calculator?
Most common formats work: "9 AM", "9:00", "900", or 24-hour time like "17:30". You can also tap the ↻ button to stamp the current time automatically.
How does overtime tracking work in this tool?
Turn it on in Settings and set your own weekly hour threshold. The calculator then splits each week's total into regular and overtime hours automatically and shows an OT badge on any week that crosses the threshold. It's a calculation aid, not a statement of what you're legally owed — see our overtime calculation guide for how the math works.
What is "Gap Time" in the totals bar?
Gap Time is the total unpaid time between your shifts on a given day — for example, the 4 hours between a lunch-shift clock-out and a dinner-shift clock-in. The calculator adds up these gaps automatically and shows them in the weekly sub-total bar under each week and in the pay-period totals bar at the bottom, alongside your worked hours. It's a tracking convenience, not a statement of what you're owed for that time — some jobs or agreements pay a "split-shift premium" for long gaps, but that depends entirely on your employer and location, so check with HR if it's relevant to you.
Can I edit or delete a shift after I've entered it?
Yes, every field remains editable at any time — click into any time entry to change or clear it, and totals recalculate instantly.
Does this work on my phone?
Yes. The calculator is fully responsive and works in any modern mobile browser — handy for logging a shift the moment you clock in.
Is this tool actually free?
Yes, fully free with no paid tier or feature limits. The site is supported by advertising rather than subscriptions or paywalls.
